Venus Williams (USA) has established a considerable legacy in contemporary tennis. In 2002 she became the first African American woman to reach the singles World No. 1 ranking. She has also won seven Grand Slam singles titles, five at Wimbledon and two at the US Open, and a singles gold medal at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
As doubles partners, she and her sister Serena won fourteen major titles and three Olympic gold medals (2000, 2008, and 2012).
Venus signed and donated this racquet to Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum at the 2009 Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Championships in Doha, where she was defending champion and was defeated by her sister Serena.
