3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum
The first FIFA World Cup after World War II took place in Brazil, in 1950. It was the fourth edition of the Cup. The defeated Axis powers, Germany and Japan, could not participate, but twelve national teams travelled to Brazil to take part.
The match between hosting Brazil and Uruguay was played at the Maracanã Stadium, Rio de Janeiro, and determined the tournament champion. Almost 200,000 people attended the final, mostly Brazilians supporting their national team. However, Uruguay defeated Brazil 2–1, creating one of the biggest surprises in football history.
